Bad breath in children is often an indication that they are suffering from some illness. So, it is always advised that in case you find bad breath in babies, you should not waste any further time and take them to the medical practitioners. A problem with the bad breath in infants is that we often fail to catch any offensive smell in the breath of our own children. It is others who can feel it. Whatever be the case, taking them to doctors is the first thing that you need to do. Often it is only the doctor who can trace the real cause behind such bad breath in toddlers. It may be because of breastfeeding, but babies have a rather sweet and pleasant smelling breath. So, it is such a sorry plight to note bad breath in children. Now, let's try to look into the reasons that cause bad breath in the infants. The commonest reason for babies to have bad breath is some kind of infection in the throat. It may also be the result of some sort of sinus infection or infection in the respiratory system, such as bronchitis. Now, these things are not very common with the babies. But it isn't totally out of question either. Rather, go to nay pediatrician and you will get to know the real picture. So many children get infected with respiratory diseases and problems like sinusitis each year. You may also have noticed that the pediatricians have a close look at the nostrils of the infants when they are taken to doctors for the problem of bad breath. The reason behind this is often there can be very small objects or food particles blocking the passage of nose that results in bad odor. Hence, whenever there is any kind of pungent odor in your baby's breath, immediately take her/him to the doctor. We cannot take any sort of chance with those infants. They are too precious.
